My Journey to the USA – October 2024

In early October, I embarked on a spiritual journey to the USA. My first stop was a week of prayer at a monastery in Virginia, where I had the privilege of praying with my brothers in Christ. From there, I traveled to Wilmington, South Carolina, where I gave several talks at a parish. It was a great opportunity to share the mission of St. Barnabas Orphanage and connect with more supporters.

Later in the week, I attended a Priests’ Conference at the Diakonia Center, where I met and interacted with the clergy from the Greek Metropolis of Atlanta. This experience brought me many new friends and prayer warriors for the orphanage. I also had the blessing of meeting my seminary professor, now His Grace Bishop Themi of Sierra Leone. After 17 years, we prayed together, and it was a joyous reunion.

After the conference, I visited Winston-Salem, where I met more brethren, celebrated Divine Liturgy, and shared about the mission work in Africa.

The final leg of my journey took me to Charleston, SC, where I met with friends and benefactors of the mission. I celebrated Divine Liturgy at the local parish and had the privilege of meeting Fr. Aristotle, a truly inspiring man of God.

I then took a train from Charleston back to Virginia, from where I flew back to Kenya and resumed my work in the mission field. It was a wonderful trip—this time, my feet didn’t swell, and I didn’t experience much jet lag.

I am already looking forward to my next trip in 2025, and I remain committed to visiting and praying with our benefactors. If you would like me to visit you during my next trip, please feel free to reach out to me via email at info@orthodoxmissionkenya.org. I will also provide updates on the work being done in Kenya, made possible by your generous donations.

Thank you for your continued financial support, and please don’t forget to pray for us.

God bless you!
