Urgent Appeal to Our Donors
We are writing to you at a time of growing concern for the future of many children in Kenya. As recently announced by Treasury CS John Mbadi, the Kenyan government can no longer fully fund free education. The capitation for secondary school students has been drastically reduced from the expected Ksh 22,000 to only Ksh 16,600 per student.
This funding gap is already having a devastating effect.
More children are being forced to drop out of school due to financial constraints. We are witnessing a rapid increase in the number of vulnerable children turning to the streets, facing hunger, exploitation, and hopelessness. For many families already on the brink, this development has pushed them beyond their limit.
At St. Barnabas Orphanage and School, we are experiencing a growing influx of needy children seeking support, yet our resources remain limited. The crisis is real, and the need has never been greater.
We appeal to you β our faithful partners β to stand with us during this critical moment. Your support can help us:
- Keep children in school and off the streets
- Provide meals, clothing, and safe shelter
- Sustain a loving environment where they can grow in faith, knowledge, and hope
Please consider making a donation today or increasing your current support to help us bridge the gap left by government cuts.
Together, we can turn this crisis into a testimony of compassion and resilience.
With deep gratitude,
Fr. John Mwangi Kariuki (Methodius)
Director β St. Barnabas Orphanage and School
