A Call to Mission: Exciting Updates from Kenya

We are thrilled to share the latest updates from St. Barnabas Orphanage and School, as well as our broader Orthodox Mission in South Kinangop. This month has been filled with blessings, and we are excited to invite you to become part of this transformative work.
Welcome, Fr. David!

This month, we had the joy of welcoming Fr. David, an American monk, who joined us with the blessings of his abbot.

Upon arrival, Fr. David stopped at the breathtaking Great Rift Valley viewpoint to admire the scenery and reflect on the journey ahead.

When he arrived at St. Barnabas Orphanage, he was greeted with excitement and joy. The children ran to embrace him, welcoming him with the love of Christ.

During his one-month stay, Fr. David will:

Teach English to the children at the orphanage and school.
Assist with building projects aimed at improving our school infrastructure.
Participate in outreach and evangelism in homes and villages near our parish.

Already, Fr. David has begun engaging with our high school students, offering encouragement and sharing stories to inspire them.

Openings for Volunteer Missionaries

The harvest is plenty, but the laborers are few. We have other missionaries scheduled to join us this year, but we still have openings for those called to serve Christ in a meaningful and spiritually enriching way.

Whether you’re passionate about teaching, construction, evangelism, or community service, your hands and hearts can make a real difference.

Note: We discourage missionary tourism. This is an opportunity for genuine, Christ-centered service and not a place for casual visits.
