s the Great Fast begins and the Faithful begin their journeys to Pascha, the St. Barnabas Orthodox Mission offers the opportunity to establish the third leg of the Fast. There are three leg of any Holy and Honourable Fasting.

  1. Abstaining from rich and abundantly portioned foods such as meat, dairy and oil. It also includes restricting intake to simple and meager portion of vegetables, beans and fruit.
  2. Prayer. Redeeming the use of time in preparing sumptuous fares to expand our personal prayer rule using prayers such are the Prayer of Saint Ephraim (Lord and Master of my life). We should also consider attending services more frequently, gathering together in corporate prayers and communion.
  3. Alms giving. The money accumulated from vain entertainment and expensive foods is apportioned and distributed to the poor. We also impoverish ourselves as the widows to give clothing, food and water to Christ. And remember, He (Jesus) is present in the poor.

St. Barnabas Orthodox Mission offers its service to the Church by distributing the alms entrusted to it during a series of fasting. We are dedicated to give material and financial assistance to orphans, widows and the poor and destitute especially the vulnerable children from the wider society. The St. Barnabas Orthodox Mission visits orphans and other vulnerable children to provide them with care packages. We also take food and other crucial items of survival to houses where children stay with their guardians.

Alms can be sent to St. Barnabas Orthodox Mission in several ways;
